Creamy Banana Pepper Chicken Skillet

A creamy and tangy chicken dish featuring savory chicken breasts, zesty banana peppers, and a luscious cream sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup pepperoncini peppers, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream or Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken by trimming excess fat and slicing horizontally if thick. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for about 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Create the creamy sauce by removing the chicken, adding the sliced pepperoncini, and sautéing for 2 minutes. Stir in the heavy cream or Greek yogurt and simmer to thicken.
  4. Combine the chicken back into the skillet, coating it with the sauce, and simmer for a minute.
  5. Plate the dish and serve hot, optionally with rice or polenta, and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

For a lighter option, use half-and-half or coconut milk instead of heavy cream. This recipe pairs well with crusty bread or rice.
