Creamy Tomato Garlic Pasta

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil (for garnish)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Add salt and toss in your pasta, cooking until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve some pasta water before draining.
  2. Sauté the Garlic: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant and lightly golden, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the Crushed Tomatoes: Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Pour in the Cream: Reduce heat and add heavy cream, stirring until combined. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Toss the drained pasta into the skillet and mix well. Add reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.
  6. Plate and Garnish: Serve in bowls or platters, topping with grated Parmesan and fresh basil.
