Homemade Churro Bites with Nutella

Delicious homemade churro bites served with rich Nutella for dipping, perfect for gatherings or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • Nutella for dipping
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients and tools—gather a pot, wooden spoon, mixing bowl, piping bag, and deep frying pan.
  2. Make the dough: In a pot over medium heat, combine 1 cup of water, 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Wait for the butter to melt and the mixture to come to a gentle boil.
  3. Once boiling, add 1 cup of all-purpose flour and stir swiftly until the mixture forms a ball (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Remove the pot from heat and let it cool for a couple of minutes before adding the 2 large eggs one at a time, stirring well each time.
  5. Transfer the dough to your piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
  6. Heat your oil in a deep frying pan to about 350°F (175°C).
  7. Pipe small pieces of dough into the hot oil, frying for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  8. While the churros are warm, mix 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon in a shallow bowl and roll the churro bites in this mixture.
  9. Serve your churro bites warm with Nutella for dipping.

Notes

Best served warm. For unique variations, consider adding cocoa powder, cayenne pepper, or pumpkin pie spice.
