Red Snapper in Creole Sauce

A flavorful red snapper dish enhanced with a rich, spiced Creole sauce, perfect for any gathering.

  • 2 red snapper fillets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat the red snapper fillets dry with a paper towel.
  2. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Carefully place the fillets in the skillet.
  5. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and just cooked through.
  6. Remove the fillets and place them on a warm plate.
  7. Add the chopped onion and green bell pepper to the same skillet.
  8. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften.
  9. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  10. Pour in the diced tomatoes, stirring to combine.
  11. Let this simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  12. Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream.
  13. Add the Cajun seasoning, mixing thoroughly.
  14. Gently return the red snapper fillets back into the skillet.
  15. Spoon some sauce over the top and simmer together for 2-3 more minutes.
  16. Plate your dish, garnishing with freshly chopped parsley.

Notes

Serve alongside rice or mashed potatoes for a complete meal. You can also add sliced jalapeños for extra heat.
