Cheese and Beef Manicotti

A delightful Italian-American classic filled with seasoned beef and creamy cheese, perfect for family gatherings.

  • 12 manicotti pasta shells
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the manicotti shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse with cold water.
  3. Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add ground beef and cook until browned; season and let cool.
  4. Combine ricotta, half of both mozzarella and Parmesan, the beef mixture, egg, and seasoning in a bowl.
  5. Fill each manicotti shell with the cheese and beef mixture.
  6. Spread a layer of marinara sauce in a baking dish, arrange filled shells, cover with more sauce and remaining cheeses.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  8. Let the manicotti rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and serve with garlic bread and salad for a complete meal.
