Magic of Tiramisu

A traditional Italian dessert made with layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone cheese.

Ingredients

  • 300 g Ladyfingers (Savoiardi)
  • 500 g Mascarpone Cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 100 g Granulated Sugar
  • 300 ml Coffee (espresso)
  • 2 tablespoons Marsala Wine
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Coffee: Start by brewing your espresso. Allow it to cool slightly.
  2. Make the Mascarpone Mixture: Beat the yolks with sugar until pale and fluffy.
  3. Add the Mascarpone: Fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
  4. Whip the Egg Whites: Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  5. Combine with Marsala: Stir in the Marsala wine.
  6. Soak the Ladyfingers: Dip each ladyfinger in the cooled espresso on both sides.
  7. Assemble the Layers: Lay down half of the soaked ladyfingers in a dish.
  8. Add the Second Layer: Repeat layers with remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone.
  9. Chill Time: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  10. Final Touch: Dust with cocoa powder before serving.

Notes

For variations, try adding chocolate, fruit, or nuts. Vegan options can be made using silken tofu.
