Baked Apple Fritters

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups peeled and diced apples
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin tin or a baking sheet.
  2. Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Combine the applesauce, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
  4. Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in the diced apples gently.
  6. Fill each muffin cavity about 2/3 full with the batter.
  7. Bake for about 18-20 minutes, until golden brown.
  8. Cool for about 5 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar.
  9. Serve warm for the best taste!
