Classic Beer Bread

A simple and rustic beer bread recipe that requires no yeast and pairs perfectly with any meal.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon table salt
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 12-ounce bottle of beer (room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted) plus additional for greasing the loaf pan

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a standard 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter.
  3. Mix the sifted flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Add your beer into the bowl and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Transfer the sticky dough into your greased loaf pan.
  6. Brush the top with melted butter.
  7. Bake for about 45-50 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Serve warm with butter or honey, and enjoy with soups or stews.
