Classic Tomato Bruschetta

A vibrant and flavorful Italian appetizer featuring toasted bread topped with juicy tomatoes, garlic, and fresh basil.

  • 1 French baguette, sliced into ½ inch thick pieces
  • 4 ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the baguette diagonally into ½ inch thick slices.
  3. Toast the bread on a baking sheet with a drizzle of olive oil for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway.
  4. Prepare the topping by mixing diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  5. Assembly time! Spoon the tomato mixture onto each toasted slice.
  6. Finishing touches include extra olive oil and basil if desired.
  7. Serve immediately for best results.

Notes

Bruschetta is best served fresh. If making topping ahead, keep it covered and add olive oil before serving.
