Chocolate Mousse Brownies

Rich and decadent brownies topped with airy chocolate mousse, perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate mousse (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing it with butter or lining with parchment paper.
  3. Melt the unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
  4. Mix in the granulated sugar once the butter is melted.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  7. Pour the sifted ingredients into the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  8. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking doneness with a toothpick.
  10. Cool the brownies in the pan for about 15 minutes, then on a wire rack.
  11. Prepare the chocolate mousse if homemade, or stir store-bought mousse.
  12. Top the cooled brownies with chocolate mousse generously.
  13. Chill in the fridge for at least an hour before slicing.

Notes

Serve with a sprinkle of cocoa powder or powdered sugar, and garnish with fresh berries or a scoop of ice cream for extra indulgence.
