Creamy Garlic Parmesan Orzo

A rich and creamy one-pan dinner featuring orzo pasta, garlic, and Parmesan cheese, perfect for a busy weeknight.

  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1.5 cups Orzo (uncooked)
  • 4 cups Chicken Broth (low sodium)
  • 0.5 cup Heavy Cream
  • 0.75 cup Parmesan Cheese (freshly grated)
  • 0.5 tsp Salt (or to taste)
  • 0.25 tsp Black Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil and unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the uncooked orzo to coat it in the garlic-butter mixture.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth, bring to a gentle boil, then reduce to a simmer, stirring occasionally for 8-10 minutes.
  5. Add the heavy cream and freshly grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken broth with vegetable broth.
