Honey Lavender Ice Cream

A creamy, dreamy ice cream that combines the floral notes of lavender with the sweetness of honey, perfect for summer indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon dried lavender flowers
  • 1 quart half and half
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Optional: violet gel food coloring

Instructions

  1. Infuse the flavor by heating half of the half and half in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir in the honey and dried lavender, simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the lavender buds.
  3. Combine the remaining half and half, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl. Fold in the honey-lavender mixture.
  4. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  5. Freeze the mixture in a deep baking dish, stirring every 30 minutes until firm, about 2-3 hours.

Notes

For a lighter version, use homemade condensed milk. Avoid overpowering with too much lavender.
