French Apple Tart

A classic French Apple Tart featuring buttery puff pastry and caramelized apples, perfect for family gatherings.

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 1/2 large crisp apples, peeled and sliced thinly
  • 1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup fig preserves

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the puff pastry by rolling it out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Transfer the rolled-out pastry to a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Slice your apples thinly and toss them in lemon juice.
  5. Arrange the apple slices on the pastry, starting from the outer edge and overlapping slightly.
  6. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the apples.
  7. Add dollops of fig preserves around the tart.
  8. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

For a stunning presentation, serve slices drizzled with caramel sauce or powdered sugar. Consider adding fresh fruit or mint for garnish.
