Spider Web Brownies

Deliciously fudgy brownies topped with a spooky spider web design made from white icing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Brownie Mix (or homemade brownie ingredients)
  • 2 Eggs (or 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce per egg for vegan)
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil (or melted coconut oil)
  • 1 cup White Icing (store-bought or homemade)
  • Black Gel Food Coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×9-inch baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  3. Mix the brownie mix (or dry ingredients if homemade), eggs, and oil in a large bowl until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Cool the brownies in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Prepare the icing by beating together softened butter and powdered sugar, adding vanilla extract and milk until spreadable.
  8. Create the spider web design by spreading icing on cooled brownies and piping spirals, then dragging a toothpick through to form the web.
  9. Chill in the fridge for 15-20 minutes to set the icing (optional).

Notes

These brownies are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for a couple of days.
