Turkey Chili Bowl

A hearty and comforting turkey chili bowl packed with flavor, perfect for a chilly evening.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Turkey
  • 1 Medium Onion, chopped
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper, diced
  • 1 Can (14.5 oz) Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 Can (15 oz) Kidney Beans
  • 2 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Ground Cumin
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups Chicken or Vegetable Broth
  • Optional Toppings: Shredded cheese, diced avocado, fresh cilantro, sour cream, or tortilla chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Dice the onion and bell pepper and mince the garlic.
  2. Sauté the Aromatics: In a pot, heat olive oil, add onion and cook until translucent, then add garlic.
  3. Brown the Turkey: Add ground turkey, break it apart and cook until browned.
  4. Add the Peppers and Spices: Mix in the diced bell pepper, chili powder, and ground cumin; cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Put in the Rest: Add diced tomatoes, kidney beans, and broth; stir and bring to simmer.
  6. Let it Simmer: Cover and reduce heat; let chil simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Taste and Adjust: Taste the chili and add spices if desired.
  8. Serve it Up: Ladle into bowls and add your favorite garnishes.

Notes

Chili tastes better the next day. Store leftovers in airtight containers.
