Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven and prepare the pan: Preheat your oven to 325°F (162°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Make the crust: In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until mixed. Press into the prepared springform pan. Bake for 10 minutes, then set aside to cool.
  3. Prepare the filling: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Add the granulated sugar and mix.
  4. Add the creamy elements: Mix in the sour cream, orange juice, and zest. Mix until combined.
  5. Incorporate the eggs: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing just until incorporated.
  6. Add flavor and texture: Stir in the vanilla extract.
  7. Bake the cheesecake: Pour the filling over the cooled crust, smoothing the top. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until the center is set but jiggly.
  8. Cool it down: Once baked, turn off the oven and crack the door. Let the cheesecake cool for an hour, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  9. Whip up the topping: Beat the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Spread over the cheesecake.
