Pepper Steak

A flavorful blend of tender ribeye steak, bell peppers, and a savory sauce that takes you on a culinary journey.

  • 2 lbs Ribeye steak, sliced against the grain
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium white onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup soy sauce
  • 1¼ cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by slicing your ribeye and chopping your vegetables.
  2. Marinate the steak with soy sauce, black pepper, ginger, and cornstarch for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
  4. Sear the marinated steak in a single layer for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
  5. Remove the steak from the pan and set it aside, leaving the juices.
  6. Cook the onions and peppers in the same pan for about 5-7 minutes until tender.
  7. Combine everything by adding garlic and the seared steak back into the pan.
  8. Create the sauce by stirring in beef broth, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and sesame oil, simmering for 5-10 minutes until thickened.
  9. Serve hot over rice or noodles and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, garnish with sesame seeds or green onions before serving.
