The Ultimate Tart

An impressive tart that combines a flaky crust with a rich lemon filling, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups All-purpose flour
  • ½ cup Unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • ¼ cup Powdered sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • ¾ cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 Fresh lemons
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven. Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the crust. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and powdered sugar. Add butter and work until crumbly.
  3. Form the dough. Add cold water and mix until combined. Shape into a disc, wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. Roll it out. Roll out the dough to ¼-inch thick and transfer to a tart pan.
  5. Blind bake the crust. Prick the crust, cover with parchment and weights, and bake for 15 minutes. Remove weights and bake for another 10 minutes.
  6. Prepare the filling. Whisk eggs, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cream, and vanilla until smooth.
  7. Bake the tart. Pour the filling into the crust and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  8. Cool and serve. Let it cool to room temperature, chill for 2 hours, then serve.

Notes

Dust with powdered sugar and serve with whipped cream or ice cream for presentation.
