Ruth’s Chris Creamy Mushroom Gratin

A rich and creamy mushroom gratin that elevates any meal with its cheesy, indulgent flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sliced mushrooms (cremini or white)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Gruyère or Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Extra for topping: Additional Parmesan and Gruyère cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Sauté the mushrooms in a skillet with butter for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Add minced garlic and thyme, sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Reduce heat and pour in heavy cream, letting it simmer for a few minutes.
  5. Stir in grated Parmesan and shredded Gruyère, allowing them to melt smoothly.
  6. Season with black pepper to taste.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a buttered baking dish and top with more cheese.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  9. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Make extra, as this dish reheats beautifully. Can be prepped ahead and stored in the fridge.
