Refreshing Vanilla Rosemary Lemonade

A delightful drink combining freshly squeezed lemons, earthy rosemary, and a hint of vanilla for a refreshing summer beverage.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Juice the lemons: Roll the lemons on your countertop to release the juices, cut them in half, and juice them. Set the fresh lemon juice aside.
  2. Make the rosemary simple syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of water, and the two rosemary sprigs. Heat over medium until the sugar dissolves (about 3-5 minutes). Remove from heat and let the rosemary steep for 15 minutes.
  3. Strain the mixture: Strain the rosemary leaves using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth.
  4. Combine the ingredients: In a large pitcher, combine the fresh lemon juice, rosemary syrup, and the remaining 3 cups of cold water. Stir well to combine.
  5. Chill: Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.
  6. Serve: Pour the lemonade over ice in glasses. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a sprig of rosemary.
